Luella Burleigh was born in NY on 7 Jul 1866, the daughter of Franklin Josiah Burleigh and Melissa Plaisted. Louella was twin to Estella. She married Chauncy M. Abbott and they had two children Miner Chancy and Ruth. Louella is on the 1870 census for Clay, NY with her parents and siblings (additional siblings were Caroline, called Carrie, and Frank Norris Burleigh). In 1920, Louella is widowed and lives next to her husband's brother Henry, in Schroeppel, Oswego, NY. In 1930, Louella, who did not remarry, is on the census in Brooklyn, King, NY with her sister Caroline and Louella's daughter Ruth. Also there is the daughter of Louella's brother Frank, Alice Burleigh. Alice's mother had died and Frank could not raise her, so Louella and Caroline were in their mid-60s and raising a young child.
