Charles Ansel Burnham, 88, of
Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2005,
at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, Virginia. Mr. Burnham was born Dec
30, 1916, in Winkleman, Arizona to the late Charles Marion and Ethel Mae
Burnham.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War
II, and was a proud member of the American Legion, California Post 537. He
received his education at the University of New Mexico. Mr. Burnham was a member
of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Fredericksburg, Virginia; and Our Lady of
Grace, El Cajon, California.

Mr. Burnham is survived by his beloved wife of
26 years, Rosemary Siefert Burnham of Fredericksburg, Va; his daughter Julia
"Judy" Anna Little of Fredericksburg, Va; stepdaughter Victoria Lynne Siefert of
Las Vegas, Nev; son-in-law Pat D. Church of Santee, Ca; granddaughter and
grandson-in-law Barbara Leanne and Timothy Wayne Branham of Spotsylvania,
Virginia; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Sandra Denise and Rodney Walter
Narbesky of Burke, Va; grandson and granddaughter-in-law SPC Devin Patrick
Church, US Army, currently serving in Iraq, and Trinity Rae Church of Blanchard,
Iowa; granddaughter Erika Lynn Church of Santee, Ca; and many wonderful nieces,
nephews and friends. Mr. Burnham was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years,
Anna Jane Martin Burnham; his infant son William Charles Burnham; infant
daughter Lydia Jane Burnham; stepdaughter Pamela Siefert Church; and son-in-law
Robert Pritchard Little.

Mr. Burnham was the last surviving sibling of eight
children. Mr. Burnham resided in San Diego, California from 1940 to 2004 before
moving to Chancellor's Village, Fredericksburg, Virginia to be near his family.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Mary
Washington Hospice, 5012 Southpoint Parkway, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22407.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm, Sunday, March 20, 2005 at Greenwood
Mortuary San Diego, Ca. Mass of the resurrection celebrated at 10 am, Monday,
Mar 21, 2005 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, El Cajon, Ca, followed by
interment with Military Honors at Greenwood Memorial Park. Published in U-T San
