Myrtle Virginia Dalton, 89, a life-long resident of Grafton Road, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at Morgan Manor Convalescent Center.

She was born March 23, 1915, at Uffington, W.Va., the daughter of the late John Henry and Clarissa Chipps Burns.

She was a homemaker and Methodist by faith.

She is survived by three daughters, Gladys and husband, Frank Bissett, of Grafton Road, Erma Getz of Grafton Road, and Linda and husband, Jim Sine, of Conway, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is also survived by daughters-in-law Marlene Dalton and Betty Dalton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Dalton; two sons, Charles F. Dalton Jr., and Clyde Jackson Dalton; five brothers; three sisters; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; son in-law, John Getz; and her daughter in-law, Marcella Dalton.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Melissa Shortridge at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
