CROSSLAKE -- Betty L. Anderson, age 57, of Crosslake, passed away at her home in Crosslake on Nov. 23, 2003, after a year long courageous battle with lung cancer.

Betty was born on Sept. 7, 1946, in Hibbing to Robert and Gladys (Vaughan) Burns Sr. She grew up and attended Nashwauk High School.

She was united in marriage to Dell LeClair from 1964 until 1972. They moved to St. Paul where she worked as a waitress.

She was united in marriage to Warren Anderson on Sept. 15, 1974, in Watertown, S.D. She worked at Chrysler Motor Division. Together they owned and operated MCS (Midwest Circuit Supply) in Minnetonka. They moved to Crosslake in 1989. Warren died in 1998.

She worked at Simonson Lumber Company and Becker Flooring. She enjoyed knitting, darts, gardening, fishing, golfing and walking her puppy Molly Brown.

Betty is survived by a loving and caring companion Randy Ness of Crosslake; her mother Gladys Burns of Nashwauk; daughter Suzette (Rick) McDonald of Savage; son Bill (Vicki) LeClair of Elk River; three grandsons, Jeramie, Nick and Robby LeClair; two brothers, Robert (Mary) Burns Jr., Ernest (Kathleen) Burns, all of Nashwauk.

Preceded in death by her husband, Warren, her father, her grandparents, Stewart and Ruth Vaughan, and A.E.W. and Bertha Burns.

Memorial services will be on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake with the Rev. Marlys Korman officiating. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will follow at the Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake.
