Adeline Mary "Curly" Burns age 77 of Westbrook passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 23, 2011 at her home.
Adeline was born September 30, 1933 in Belfast Township, Murray County, MN to Ferdinand and Catherine (Hermeling) Hempel. She was baptized October 8, 1933 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Fulda. On February 21, 1955, Adeline was united in marriage to George Burns in Avoca, MN. Together the couple lived in Westbrook most of their lives. Adeline was a devoted wife and mother. She was a very active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Adeline enjoyed quilting, crocheting and embroidering. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandkids. She also enjoyed crosswords, reading, gardening, fishing and playing cards.
She is survived by her children: Craig (Teri) of Windom, Debra (Boyd) Pack of Farmington, Kevin (Cindy) of Webster, Keith (Jodi) of Westbrook, Steven of Lakefield, and Nancy (Dan) Rehder of Rosemount; eleven grandkids; four step grandkids; one great grandson; three sisters: Eileen McCormick of Plymouth, Mary (Pete) Duinkerken of Worthington, and Teresa Allen of Estherville, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband George, son Dean, grandson Devon, and brothers Joe and Edward Hempel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Westbrook. Interment is in the Westbrook Cemetery.
