Mrs. Charles G. [Alice] Burns, a resident of Center City for more than 60 years and a resident of Chisago Lutheran Home for the past 5 years died Thursday, Aug 10, at the age of 89 years.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 am Monday, August 14 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Donald L. Gustafson officiating.

Mrs. Burns was born as Alice T.Erickson on Aug 3, 1878 near Scandia. Her husband, the late Judge Charles D. burns died in 1942.

Judge and Mrs. Burns were active leaders in school and community affairs in the earlier days and were devoted workers in Trinity Lutheran Church throughout their lives. Mrs. Burns served in many capacities in the women's work of the church.

Surviving are 5 children, Floyd O. Burns of St. Mary's Point, Stillwater, The Rev Lyle C. Burns of Phoenix, AZ, Mrs. Genieve Huseth of St.Paul'S. Lee Burns of Madison, WI and Mrs. Vivian Benniger of Downey, CA.

Two sisters, Mrs. Frank Lundgren of Stillwater, Mrs. John Horsager of Mpls, one brother Henning Erickson of Stillwater, 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Interment was at Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom.
