John V. Burrough, 65r, of 203 Asure Hills, Van Buren, Arkansas, died Monday, January 6, 1986 in a Fort Smith, Arkansas hospital.

He was a former Crawford County circuit clerk and tresurer and a former Alma, Arkansas mayor. He waqs a past master of Van Buren Masonic Lodge 6, a member of Scottish Rite Bodies of Fort Smith and had been invested as a knoght commander of athe Court of Honor. He was a former executive vice president of Commercial Bank of Alma, Citizens Bank and Trust of Van Buren and City National Bank of Fort Smith. he was a Second World War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; two sons, John M. of Temple, Texas and David L. of Little Rock; two sisters, Velma of Van Buren and Katheryn Dean of Fort Smith; two brothers, Rudolph of Fort Smith and a twin brother V. F.. (Bill) both now deceased of Van Buren, and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Van Buren Building Fund.
