Helen Cecelia Bursa, 90, of Tiffin, passed away at 11:35 a.m., Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the St. Francis Nursing Home in Tiffin. Helen was born on November 22, 1923 in Tiffin, to the late Ambrose and Justina (Druska) Bursa. Survivors include her sister, Mary Miller of Tiffin, a sister-in-law, Rita Bursa of Tiffin and fifteen nieces and nephews. Helen was a Tiffin Calvert High School graduate class of 1942. She owned and operated Twilight Beauty Shop and later retired from General Electric after 38 years of working as a winder. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and also worked for St. Vincent DePaul. Helen was on the St. Francis Auxiliary board and a member of the Gwatts. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Joseph and Dominic Bursa, three sisters, Appalonia Bursa, Antonia Bursa, Agnes Higgins Eley and a nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the St. Francis Chapel with the Rev. Frank Murd officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be on Thursday, from 11:00-12:00 p.m., at the chapel. Burial will follow the services on Thursday, at the St. Mary's Catholic cemetery. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Chapel window Fund or to the Kilimanjaro Orphanage Centre.
