GROVELAND MAN FATALLY INJURED IN AUTO PLUNGE
August Busch, 60, of Sunset Inn above Groveland, was fatally injured in a 900 foot plunge off the Priest's Grade Friday afternoon. Busch was riding alone except for the dog, in a pickup truck. The dog jumped to safety but Busch stayed with the car until it neared the bottom of the steep grade when he was thrown free of the vehicle. The injured man was brought to the Mother Lode Hospital in Jamestown where he died without regaining consciousness. Funeral services were held from the I O O F Hall in Big Oak Flat Tuesday under the direction of the Burden Company, internment was in the Cemetery on the Divide. He has no known relatives.
