Dr. Ruthanne B. Simmons, 43, of Needham, MA, died on Friday, (November 8, 2002) from breast cancer. Beloved wife of Dr. Robert A. Stern and loving mother . Daughter of Dr. Richard J. and Anne C. Simmons of East Orleans, MA. formerly of West Newton, MA. She also leaves her brother; her two sisters; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law of Wellesley, MA; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law of Bloomfield; her beloved nieces and nephews; and several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dr. Simmons was an eye surgeon at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, with offices in Boston, Waltham, Sandwich, and West Yarmouth. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 18, at 2:30 p.m. at The Second Church in Newton, MA, 60 Highland Street, West Newton, MA, with a reception immediately following at Brae Burn Country Club, 328 Fuller Street, West Newton, MA. Visitation at her late home, Wednesday, November 13 through Saturday, November 16, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Simmons International Glaucoma Fellowship" c/o OCB, 50 Staniford Street, Boston, MA 02114, or to the "Ruthanne B.
