Mamie L. Bush, 92, of Danbury, beloved and cherished wife of Jerry Bush, Sr., was called home to be with her Lord and Savior at dawn on Sunday, November 17, 2013. Missionary Bush was born in LeFlore, Mississippi, August 18, 1921, daughter of Judge and Ida (McDowell) House. With her family, they relocated to the state of Missouri settling in New Madrid Township. She attended New Madrid schools and graduated from New Madrid High School and moved to Danbury in 1942. Missionary Bush was a mother, wife, homemaker and the family matriarch. She retired from the Visiting Nurses Association of Danbury as a home health aide. Active in the community and life of her church, New Bethel Church of God in Christ of Danbury, Missionary Bush was a founding member and trustee, a member of the Church Mother Board and served as the Advisor, the Adult Sunday School instructor, past President of the Women's Department and a licensed Evangelist Missionary. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting and antiquing. Most especially, she enjoyed serving her God and through Him extended His love, and her own, to her family, extended family, church family and friends. Remaining to cherish her blessed memory in addition to her husband, Jerry Sr. of 72 years, is a son, Jerry Bush Jr.; four daughters, Ida L. Best, Emma L. Bush Boudreaux, Micki L. Fuller and Susan Marie Bush Harris; a sister, Daisy Freeman; an honorary daughter Linda Jones; eleven grandchildren and predeceased by a grandson, Samuel A. Fuller; sixteen great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends too numerous to mention. A Home Going Service will take place on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:30 am in the New Bethel Church of God in Christ, 26 Liberty St., Danbury with Elder Henry N. White, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends at New Bethel Church on Friday from 10 am to 11 am. Repast will follow internment at the church. Contributions in Missionary Bush's memory and honor may be made to the Deacon Thelbert Harris, Jr. Scholarship Fund, C/O New Bethel Church."I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust."
