Manuela Barraza, 68, Wasco, March 20. Visitation 2 to 8 p.m. March 22, Peters Funeral Home, Wasco; rosary, 6 p.m. March 23; funeral Mass 10 a.m. March 24, St. John's Church. Peters Funeral Home, Wasco.

Manuela was born in Durango Mexico on November 16, 1940 to Preciliano and Paula (Nuñez) Bustamante. She married Angel Barraza in 1962 they had 3 daughters. Manuela and her family moved to Lost Hills and later settled in Wasco where they have lived for over 30 years. Manuela enjoyed cooking enchiladas and chile verde for her family; she spoiled her grandchildren and bought them do whatever they wanted it. Manuela was a good mother and a loving grandmother.

Manuela was preceded in death by her parents; two infant siblings, Francisca and Fernando. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Angel Barraza; daughters Carolina Avila and husband Jose of Bakersfield, Josefa Cantu and husband Juan of Wasco and Lourdes Armenta and husband Emiliano of Shafter; 9 grandchildren; 9 siblings living in Mexico.

Recitation of the holy Rosary will be held at St. John's Catholic Church on Monday, March 23 at 6pm for Manuela Barraza, age 68, of Wasco who passed away March 20, 2009 in Delano. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 24. Fr. John Fluetsch will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday March 22, 2009 and Monday March 23, 2009 from 2-8 pm at Peters Funeral Homes Chapel.
