Lineman electrician, died from workplace injury. Husband of Della Butler. From the Los Angeles Herald, June, 4 and 5, 1910:

"To Hold Inquest:
A coroner's inquest on the body of Claude H. Butler, the Pacific Electric lineman who was electrocuted Friday near Covina Junction while working, will be held tomorrow in Pierce Bros. morgue. Butler, who was 23 years old, is survived by a widow, now visiting relatives in Colorado. He had been staying with his parents on East Thirty-sixth Street. While at work on the new bridge which is under construction by the Pacific Electric company near Covina Junction, Claude H. Butler, a lineman, became entangled with a live wire yesterday, suffering burns which resulted in his death at 6 o'clock last night. Butler was helping set an electric pole near the bridge and the fog and dampness moistened the pole, and when Butler came in contact with it he received 15,000 volts of electricity. His fellow workers rushed to his assistance and an inbound Los Angeles electric car was stopped and Butler was taken to the Pacific Electric emergency hospital for treatment. He died shortly after his arrival at the hospital."
