► -----on 6 January 1940. MV British Liberty hit a mine at 16:20 in fog however the ship did not immediately sink. That evening the tugs attempted to tow the MV British Liberty out of the minefield but unfortunately the MV British Liberty hit another mine while being towed. The following series of explosions sunk the MV British Liberty killing all those aboard.
► The British tanker British Liberty hit a (allied) mine and sank NE of Dyck lightvessel.
Twenty-five of her crew were killed.-- (Vleggeert Nico on 27/03/2009)
