SS Margam Abbey, built by Palmers' Shipbuilding & Iron Co. Ltd., Newcastle in 1906 ....... was a British steamer of 4367 tons.
On November 1st, 1917, Margam Abbey, on a voyage from Cardiff to
Alexandria with a cargo of coal, was torpedoed by the German submarine
UB-50 (Franz Becker), off Collo, Algeria.
Margam Abbey was beached but became a total loss.
