Leonard M. Buzinski INDIAN ORCHARD

Leonard M. Buzinski, 87, of Indian Orchard, Massachusetts, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, entered into rest on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at home.

Lenny was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late Frank Buzinski and Anna (Revitt) Buzinski. He attended Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Lenny joined the US Navy in 1944 and was assigned to his first ship, the USS Beatty. He served on this ship until June, 1946. He then moved to Springfield, Mass. to work for the railroad. In 1949 he reenlisted in the US Navy and served on the USS Purdy, as the ship's storekeeper. Returning to Springfield, Mass.

He managed a series of gas stations for over 35 years, having worked for Bolduc's Gulf in Indian Orchard, and for Pride Stations. Most recently he was a crossing guard for the Springfield School District, before retiring two years ago. Lenny enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews in the Catskills at Buzinstock.

Lenny is survived by his sister-in-law, Rita P. Buzinski, Wilkes-Barre, PA, godson, William J. and wife, Linda Buzinski, Stafford, VA, niece, Pat Dardano, North Reading, Mass, niece, Nancy, and husband Ray Klosko, Mountaintop, PA, nephew, Robert Buzinski, Norristown, PA. nephew Walter Buzinski Jr., Laflin, PA, nephew, Gregory, and wife, Edie Buzinski, West Pittston, PA, nephew James Buzinski, Los Angeles, CA, niece, Barbara (Buzinski) , and husband Gordie Jones, Lititz, PA, nephew, Paul and wife, Jackie Buzinski, NYC, as well as several grand nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Albert Buzinski, William Buzinski, Walter A. Buzinski, and Anthony Buzinski.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be Saturday January 11, 2014 at 10 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA Msgr. Homer P. Gosselin will preside. Rites of Committal with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9-10 AM.
