She was a member of Waverly Place Baptist Church and retired from Sears.

Mrs. Austin is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, D. Wayne and Nancy Austin, Atlanta, Ga., Roger N. and Belinda Austin, Roanoke; grandchildren, Melissa Wade and husband, Timmy, R. Neil Austin; great-grandsons, R. Neil Austin, III, Timothy Tyler Wade; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Grover Austin, Roanoke; mother-in-law, Era Austin, Roanoke; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, O. C. Jr., and Mary Austin, Orange Park, Fla.; sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law, Iris and Forest Lloyd, Vinton, Lucile and Jack Minter, Roanoke.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, December 21,1996, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Hoffler of Waverly Place Baptist Church and Dr. Bill Baker of Good Samaritan Hospice officiating, with burial to follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may call Friday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m.
