DAYTON — The funeral for Jessie Byrd Beall, 60, of 370 College St., Dayton will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home by the Rev. A. R. Bolls. Burial will be in Dayton Cemetery.

Mrs. Beall died Thursday afternoon at Rockingham Memorial Hospital after being stricken earlier at her home.

She was born March 25, 1918 in Harrisonburg and was a daughter of the late Clarence S. and Pamma Landes Byrd.

She had worked for Rockingham Memorial Hospital and Bernard's Grocery in Dayton. She also was a member of Cooks Creek Presbyterian Church.

On Sept. 6, 1940, she married H. Pat Beall, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Samuel L. Beall of Harrisonburg; seven sisters, Charlotte Peacock of Greensboro, N.C., Anna Foley and Lola Holsinger, both of Harrisonburg, Janet Lam of Dayton, Joyce Craun and Lois Cook, both of Bridgewater, and Shirley Flick of Hampton, and two brothers, Elmer Howard Byrd of Bridgewater and Bobby Joe Byrd of Roanoke.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home 7:30-8:30 p.m. today.
