Mrs. Harriet C. Akens (sic), the widow of an old soldier and an inmate for some years of the Soldiers' Home, died very suddenly at that institution this morning from heart trouble. It is stated that while the old lady had been suffering for some time with asthma, there was no especial indication that she was in any especial danger. The deceased was born in Pennsylvania, June 15, 1850, her maiden name being Harriett C. Cable. The remains were brought to this city and prepared for shipment to Plainview, this state, where interment will take place.
