Cecil Cable

Browning - Cecil R. Cable, 95, of rural Browning died at 9:50 p.m. Monday, June 17, 1996, at Snyder's Vaughn-Haven in Rushville.
Born Dec. 27, 1900, in Sawyer, Kan., to Isaac and Etta Metzger Cable, he married Ruth S. Miller on Nov. 25, 1920, in Bader. She died Dec. 24, 1987.
He also was preceded in death by one son, Charles, two brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Gail (Erma) Geiman of Browning; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three brothers, Lester of Clio, Mich., Ralph of Delphi, Ind., and Paul of Camden, Ind.; and two sisters, Emma Allen of Burton, Mich., and Anna Bell Cable of Camden.
He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
He was a member of Mud Valley German Baptist Church near Astoria, where services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday. Elders Orvel Gish and Arthur Cook will officiate. There will be no formal visitation. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in Mud Valley Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to his church.
