Irene Collins Cadwell was born February 22, 1918 in Glasgow, Kentucky. She grew up in Glasgow where she received her education, graduating from Glasgow High School in 1936. She was united in marriage with S.P. "Tex" Bidwell in 1940 in California. Following World War II, the couple moved to Sioux Falls.
Irene was a member of First Christian Church in Sioux Falls.
She is survived by one son, James Bidwell and his wife, Barb, of Westminster, CO; five grandchildren, Tamara Reistroffer, Thomas Bakke, and Scott Bakke and his wife, Heidi, all of Sioux Falls, Chris Bidwell, and Jody Roswell; and eight great grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Seymore, "Tex" Bidwell in 1962, her parents, James and Laura Cadwell, a daughter, Joan Bakke, her sister, Peg, and a brother, William.
