OBITUARY: Menomonee Falls News April 21, 1949 "DEATH TAKES ALFRED CAESAR AT AGE OF 63. Alfred Caesar, 63, well known life-long resident of Menomonee Falls, passed away at his home early Wednesday morning, April 20. The son of the late Jacob and Rose Kuepfer Caesar, pioneers of Menomonee Falls, he was born May 25, 1885 in this village. As a young man he was employed by the Thomas Hardware. Thirty-five years ago he started his own Heating and Plumbing business, developing a substantial, profitable business. Bad luck played two roles in his business, career, that of having the misfortune of having two of his buildings destroyed. His first building burned as a result of a fire next door. He built a new building which was destroyed due to the gas explosion in the Held Recreation building next door during the gas strike three years ago. Since then, he carried on his business in temporary quarters, and at the time of his death, was making plans to rebuild.

He was an ardent sportsman and trapshooter for many years. In his youth he was well known .

Surviving him are his wife, Dorthea (nee Weiffenbach); one daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Kiekhoefer, Napa, Calif.; two sons, Robert and Harold, Menomonee Falls; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Alda Weitenhagen; two brothers, Julius, Milwaukee and Elmer P. Menomonee Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the A. A. Schmidt & Sons Funeral Home, the Rev. h. A. Crusius officiating. Interment will be at the Sunnyside cemetery."
