Genevieve Cairns Bahl, 86, of 699 Manchester Road, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, in Hamilton Ohio.


Mrs. Bahl was born Nov. 2, 1911 in Crestline, Ohio, to Frank D. & Blanche (Foltz) Cairns. She resided in Mansfield all of her life, moving to Hamilton, Ohio in 1996. She attended Mansfield City Schools and graduated Jan. 24, 1930.


Mrs. Bahl married Charles Edward Bahl on Dec. 25, 1937 and they shared almost 59 years of marriage together before his death in October 1996. She enjoyed her family and liked to knit and make gifts for others. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She retired from Mansfield City Schools as a cook in 1973. She was a past member of the Mansfield Liederkranz and both she and her husband bowled on a mixed doubles league for over 25 years.


Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Blair; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; a number of nieces & nephews.


She was preceded in death by her mother in 1938 and her father in 1970; one sister, Nell Piler; two brothers, William Cairns and Lloyd Cairns; a devoted son-in-law, thomas Blair in August 1997.


Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at the Wappner Funeral Directors. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
