Kathleen Cairns Baldwin, age 44, died on Wednesday June 10, 2009, in her home in Lubbock. Kathleen was born August 28, 1964, in El Paso. She spent her early years in Las Cruces and her family then moved to Albuquerque where she graduated from Del Norte High in Albuquerque. She attended college at the University of New Mexico. She entered the law field and worked as a paralegal.
Kathleen is survived by her parents, Bobby and Donna Cairns of Albuquerque; her husband, Nevan; three children, Kaitlin Baldwin of Lubbock, Nick Baldwin and Robert Baldwin of Albuquerque; and a brother, Norman Cairns of Albuquerque.
Kathleen will be sadly missed by all who loved her and her vivacious style of living. One of her fondest quotes will live with us all; "This is your life; it is not a dress rehearsal".
A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held at Trinity Church, 7002 Canton Ave, at South Loop 289 on Sunday, June 14, 2009, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Andrew Farley will officiate. A reception will follow at the Lubbock Science Spectrum from 3 to 5 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Resthaven Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Chorus of Angels fund at Joe Arrington Cancer Center. The fund provides resources to assist cancer patients with prescription medications, transportation, co-pays, travel expenses, and other needs.
