Patricia M. Salivar, 78, of Rockford, IL died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, after a brief illness.

Born May 7, 1933, in Rockford, the daughter of Charles and Rose Calleia. She lived her entire life in Rockford. She married James Victor Salivar on Aug. 9, 1956, in Rockford; he died in 1983. She was employed as a switchboard operator by Rockford Telephone Answering Exchange for 22 years. Pat was a member of St. Anthony Church. She graduated from West High School.

Survivors include children, Jim (Fran) Salivar, Linda Quest, Rosemary (Ron) Schoepfer and Charlotte Varble; grandchildren, Georgina Brown, Brandy and James Michael Salivar, Haley Varble and Caitlin Schoepfer; great-grandchildren, Trienna and Tristan Brown; brothers, Frank and Jim (Florence) Callea; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased also by brothers, Peter, Louis and Gregory.

Service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, in Gasparini & Oliveri Funeral Home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, in Gasparini & Oliveri Funeral Home, with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Friends may call again from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
