Mrs. Blanche B. Benkert, widow of Frank J. Benkert, passed away early Friday morning, July 19, 1974, at Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital after a lingering illness. Age 75 years. Blanche B. Calin was born May 8, 1899, in Cambridge, OH, living in Saginaw most of her life. Mr. Benkert passed away in 1917. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary of St. Charles, and was very active in the Swan Creek P.T.A. and the 4H Group. Surviving are five daughters and one son, Warren Benkert, at home; Mrs. Frank (Janice) DeLong; Mrs. Frank (Donna) Pack; Mrs. Donald (JoAnn) Hoggard; and Mrs. John (Joyce) Lash, all of Saginaw; Mrs. James (Sandra) Fisk, Bay City; two step-daughters and two step-sons, Waldemar; and Irving Benkert, both of Saginaw; Mrs. Ray (Florence) Perry, Merrill; Mrs. Bernard (Margaren) Fedewa, St. Charles; 23 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. George Kretz, Saginaw; Mrs. Clarence Passmore, Pontiac, MI; Leonard Verpooten, Cambridge City, IN; Victor Verpooten, Harrietta, MI; several nieces; and nephews.
Funeral service will take place 10:15 a.m. Monday at the Case Chapel, 409 Adams St., 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. David. F. Jarecki, O.F.M., will officiate, with burial in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 7 p.m. Saturday where they will meet with relatives 7:30 p.m. Sunday, for a Scripture Service. Those who so desire may make memorials to the American Cancer Society.
