Mae Kathryn Anderson, age 93, of Byron Center, formerly of Tipton passed away Monday, May 26, 2014, at Trillium Woods Hospice Facility. She was born December 28, 1920, in Riga, Mich., to Adam Guernsey and Anna Marie (Steih) Calvin. She married Harold "Mike" Anderson on December 31, 1942, and he preceded her in death on September 4, 1988. Mae was a life-long resident of Tipton and Adrian until she moved to Byron Center in 2008. She drove school busfor the Tecumseh Public School System for 19 years. Mae was a member of the Women's Auxiliary at Herrick Community Hospital, the Tecumseh VFW Women's Auxiliary, the Tipton Grange, a 4-H Leader, various bowling leagues and a Euchre Club. She was a seamstress for multiple brides, she loved to travel, nearly seeing all 50 states and she loved to do crafts.
Mae is survived by two daughters, ... In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Richard Calvin; sister Florence Lundahl and a great-grandson, Matthew Zambon.
Funeral services for Mae will be held Saturday May 31, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Pastor Eric Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Twp., Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m., prior to the funeral service at Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
