Mary McGinnis-Campbell, 75, of Mullens died on Saturday, July 8, 1989 in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Mrs. Campbell was a 73-year resident of Mullens, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mullens, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Railroad Trainman, and last worked as head of Dry Goods Department for the C.H. Meade Coal Company in East Gulf.

She was born on September 1, 1913 at Surveyor to the late Joseph Elmer McGinnis (1867-1932) and Lillie Trump-Clay-McGinnis (1877-1936). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Campbell (1895-1983); a sister, Delcie McGinnis-Carter (1906-Deceased); two half sisters, Lenora "Nora" McGinnis-Stover (1894-1974), and Gracie Clay-Freeland (1897-Deceased); two brothers, Gilbert McGinnis (1908-1986) and William "Howard" McGinnis (1903-1966); and three half brothers, William Jesse "Jess" McGinnis (1891-1968), Dennie Clay (1899-Deceased), and William "Hobart" Clay (1900-Deceased).

Survivors include three sisters, Gertrude "Gertie" McGinnis-Kerns (1910-1990) and Virginia McGinnis-Calhoun (1915-1994), both of Mullens, and Betty Lou McGinnis-Keller-Holcomb (1922-2007) of Rockville, MD.

Services will be Tuesday, July 11, 1989 at 11:00 a.m. in the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel in Mullens with Rev. Gary Marshall officiating. Entombment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley. Friends may call today, Monday, July 10, 1989 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
