CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ashley Campbell, 49, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014, with his family by his side after a 15-month battle with brain cancer.

Ashley was born in Bluefield, WV, on July 31, 1965, to Alexander (“Zan”) Doak Campbell and Ida Varney Campbell. Ashley graduated from Marshall University, in Huntington, West Virginia, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, in 1988, and passed his certified public accountant examination shortly thereafter. Ashley was formerly married to Susan Elizabeth Campbell. Ashley and Susan have two beautiful daughters Breann Elizabeth, 14, and Lauren Nicole Campbell, 12.

Throughout his business career, Ashley served as an executive for various international and domestic companies. At the time of his illness, Ashley was the Chief Executive Officer of Sensei Solutions, LLC, an electrical and technology based company.

Ashley loved the Lord and worshiped at the Forest Hill Church, in Charlotte. He adored his two daughters and was a devoted father, a loving son and brother, as well as a loyal friend to many. He loved to spend time with his daughters, family and friends, playing and watching golf, and enjoying the sun and the beach. Ashley was a very fun-loving, optimistic and caring man. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and forever hold a loving and special place in their hearts and souls.

Ashley is survived immediately by his mother, Ida V. Campbell of Beckley, WV; his brother Robert A. Campbell, of Charleston, WV; his daughter Breann E. Campbell of Charlotte, NC; his daughter Lauren N. Campbell of Charlotte, NC; his Aunt Nancy K. Campbell of Bluefield, WV; his nephew Gage A. Campbell of Charleston.

The family is grateful to all the outstanding care Ashley received from the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University, in Durham, NC, the Carolina Medical Center, in Charlotte, NC, the caretakers at Visiting Angels Living Assistance in Charlotte, NC, and the staff at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster, in Charlotte.

A celebration of Ashley’s life will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014, with a one-hour visitation from noon until 1 p.m., followed by a service at 1 p.m., at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29708. Thereafter, on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, a one-hour visitation will be held, from noon until 1 p.m., followed by a service at Church of God Family Worship, 224 Pinewood Drive, Beckley, WV 25801. Immediately following the service, the burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park of Beckley, Inc., 1925 Harper Road, Beckley, WV 25802. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
