J. A. CAMPBELL DIES IN HOSPITAL


James Alvin Campbell, 64, of Crab Orchard, died in a local hospital, Tuesday morning at 9:46 a.m. following a short
illness.

Born in Summers county July 1, 1882; he had been a resident of Crab Orchard for the past 40 years.

A member of the Crab Orchard Baptist Church, he was a farmer and carpenter by occupation.

Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Delia Snuffer Campbell, four sons, Basil Cambbell, Beckley; Weldon Campbell, Clevand, W. Va.; Reo Campbell, MacArthur; James Campbell, Jr., of Crab Orchard; four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Jarrett, of Crab Orchard; .Mrs. Ruby Gallimore, Otsego; Mrs. Virginia Pennington, of Maitland, W. Va,; Mrs. Helen Moody, Crab Orchard; one brother, Charles Campbell, Fairdale; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Woods, Glen White, and Mrs. Minnie Peltry, of Bellepoint.

The body will be removed, this afternoon from the Calfee funeral home to the residence at Crab Orchard.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Crab Orchard Baptist Church Thursday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Murlin E. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor cemetery.
