LORETHA FAYE BIRD, 71, of Milton, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 26, 2003, at Sunbridge of Putnam, Hurricane, after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother. Member First Baptist Church of Hurricane. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Bird; her parents, Clate L. and Emma J. Garrett Campbell; sisters, Bonnie Campbell and Hazel Ellis; brothers, Herald and Ronnie Campbell. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law: Johnnie R. and Robin Bird of Milton, W.Va.; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law: Regina and Mike Lewis and Sherry and Michael Hayes, all of Hurricane, W.Va., Wendy Bird and Tiffani Rowsey, both of Milton, W.Va.; brothers and sisters-in-law: Lonnie and Rosie Campbell of Culloden, W.Va., Paul and Irma Lee Campbell of Hurricane, W.Va., Carlton and Bethel Campbell of Ona, W.Va.; great-grandchildren: Sierra Bird-Hayes, Celesta Hayes and Michael Hayes II; also several nieces and nephews and a long list of many friends. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2003, at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel, Teays Valley, with the Rev. Charles Hendricks and James McGehee officiating. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton, W.Va. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
