Alvin Walker Cantrill, born April 12, 1912, died April 19, 2010 after a brief illness. He resided at 1706 South 9th Street in Alhambra, California at the time of his death.


Preceded in death by his wife of seventy-two years, Ruth. Retired fireman (Alhambra) and meat cutter, he was a loving father, good friend, and neighbor. To his great joy he managed to play a round of golf in every state.


Survived by his children Karen (Don) Phillips and Wayne (Kathryn); grandchildren Jason (Anna) Phillips, Matthew Phillips, Judy (Erik) Egan, Andrew (Lisa) Gribble, Scott (Kristin) Cantrill, and Rob Cantrill; great-grandchildren Otis Phillips, Jake Egan, and Elisabeth Cantrill.


Funeral Services will held on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Gate #17, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA
