Oles Carey Brawner, 92, of 5740 Athens Road, Carnesville, GA died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at The Gables at Cobb Village in Royston, GA.

Mrs. Brawner was born in Franklin County, GA, September 28, 1917, daughter of the late Johnny and Onnie Cromer Carey. She was a homemaker and member of the Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Jewell Edward Brawner.


Survivors include daughter, Carolyn Pilgrim of Toccoa, GA; sons, Edward Brawner of Royston, GA, Marshall Brawner of Bogart, GA, and Lindy Brawner of Royston, GA; sister, Lettie Smith Columbia, SC. Eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren also survive.


Preceded in death by four brothers, J.C., Hugh Linder, Stancil and Haskel Carey, and two sisters, Annie Bell Roberts and Jeffie Malone.


Funeral services for Mrs. Brawner will be at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bert Synan and Rev. Malcolm Herndon officiating. Burial will follow in the Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery in Royston, GA.


The body is at the Pruitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening September 28, 2010. The family is at the home.
