Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Hill-Watson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Bridges officiating. Visitation will be 1 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at New Solomon Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Pine Mountain, GA., according to Hill-Watson Memorial Chapel, 2919 Hamilton Road, Columbus. Mr. Carey was born June 30, 1949 in Harris County, GA., son of the late Rosie Lee Sherman and Jessie Carey, Sr. He was a forklift operator with Kosmil Cosmetics. Survivors include his wife, Teressa Carey, Atlanta, GA.; son, Marcus Henderson, Columbus, GA.; daughters, Selena Carey, Atlanta, GA., Cassandra Carey, Tomikia Durham, both of Columbus; brothers, Jessie Carey, Jr., Columbus, GA., Sylvester Sherman (Willie Mae), LaGrange, GA., Willie Sherman (Evelyn), Tampa, FL.; sisters, Rosie Mae Carey, Diane Sherman (Render), both of Columbus, GA.; six grandchildren, a devoted friend, Dorothy Walker; three aunts, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
