CAROLA, Joseph - Joseph Carola, 85, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Alice (Sperini) Carola, passed away on Sunday, (March 4, 2007) at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Allison, PA, son of the late Louis and Rose (Deluke) Carola and lived in the Hartford area before moving to Wethersfield in 1955. He retired from the Hartford Police Department in 1975 after 27 years of service. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of the Connecticut National Guard, the Hartford Patrolmen's Benevolent Association, the Hartford Police Union and the Hartford Police Veterans Association. Joe loved fishing and boating, his trips to the casino, and gardening, especially his fig trees in which he took great pride. Besides his wife he leaves two brothers, Sam and his wife Nicki Carola of FL, Nick and his wife Gert Carola of Rocky Hill, sisters, Connie Uccello of West Hartford, Maria Cappetta of South Windsor, Josephine and her husband Carl D'Alosio of Rocky Hill and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great- great nieces and nephews, his special niece Gina, a brother-in-law Frank and his wife Halje Sperini and a sister-in-law Josephine (Sperini) Griffen. Funeral services will be Thursday at 9 A.M. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield.
