"PATRICK CARRIGAN DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Patrick Carrigan, aged 68 years, died yesterday at the family home, 113 1/2 South Witmer street. His death followed a long illness. Mrs. Carrigan is dangerously ill and it is feared the death of her husband may have serious results for her.

Mr. Carrigan was the father of J. J. Carrigan, president of division No. 1, Ancient Order of Hibernians. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at the Church of Our Lady of Loretto. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery."

As published in the Los Angeles Herald, Volume 34, Number 326, 23 August 1907.Patrick and Johanna Welch Carrigan were the parents of six children: Mary Ellen, James Wilkin Agnes, John, Margaret Angela, and Patrick Edward.

Some tragedy (diptheria?) must have struck this family, as all the deaths marked on this stone are within one week, between 26 Feb 1883 and 5 Mar 1883.
