The daughter of Walter Anderson and Caledonia Bohannon Carr; graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Nursing School in Russellville, AR.

A resident of Stockton, CA, very active in the community, religious, political and other organizations, including the Demorcratic Party, California State Employees Association, Clinton Library Supporter, National Association for the advancement of Colored People, National Organization for Women, First Baptist Church of Stockton, and E.M.I.L.Y.'s List among many other organizations. A devout supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and NARAL.

She was a skilled quiltmaker, cake decorator, and upholsterer.

Preceded in death by her husband, John Clyde Blakley and siblings, Roberta Ira Carr, Walcie Catherine Benton, William Hayes, Ruby Castro, Clebrun Ray Carr, Henry Ford Carr and Tony William Carr.

Survivors include four children; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at Frisbie-Warren and Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. California Street in Stockton, CA.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the mortuary, followed by a gravesdie committal service at Linden Cemetery.
