She was born in Pettus on Sept. 25, 1928, to Rita Esparza and Marcelino Carrillo. She married Abelino Cabazos in Karnes City on July 27, 1963. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pettus. She was a homemaker and loved to quilt and embroidery.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Rose, Lolita, Fransisca and Catarina; and four brothers, Albino, Julian, Rufino and Jose.
Survivors include her husband, Abelino Cabazos of Pettus; one son, Abelino (Sandra Salinas) Cabazos Jr. of Beeville; one daughter, Amelia (Greg Smith) Cabazos of Dallas; one sister, Leandra Moya of Beeville; two granddaughters, Cassandra Cabazos and Jacqueline Marie Gore; one grandson, Roland Barrientes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Angelus Funeral Home with a rosary recited there at 7 p.m. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pettus Cemetery, followed by interment.
