CLAIRE ALBONETTI CARROLL, a lifelong resident of Memphis and most recently Kirby Pines, passed away on September 8 at the age of 93. Mrs. Carroll was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church for over 50 years, where she served as president of the Altar Society, treasurer of the Ladies Club and was active in the Ladies of Charity. She also served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Memphis Society of CPA's. She was a Red Cross Volunteer at St. Francis Hospital for over 30 years, distributing books and magazines to patients and families. After moving to Kirby Pines in 1995, she was very active in the Kirby Pines Line Dancers and also modeled in fashion shows. Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Alvah A. Carroll, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Pat Sexton (Mike) of Lakeland and Sherry Condon (John) of Nashville, and her son Mark Carroll (Jo Ann) of Atlanta, GA. Survivors also include six grandchildren: Stephanie Anderson and Emily Condon of Memphis, Kathleen Gooch of Nashville, Jeff Sexton of Houston, Allyson Campbell and Shawn Darling of Atlanta. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren: Hannah, Jack, Connor, Hallie, Aidan, Brooks, Riley, and Davis; 1 niece and 4 nephews. Claire's greatest joys were her family, celebrating holidays, and making her wonderful homemade ravioli. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday September 21 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church followed by a funeral Mass at 12. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Fr. Tom Condon will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or the American Red Cross.
