Billy Price Carroll, 90, lifelong Memphis artist, passed away on March 13, 2011. Life to Mrs. Carroll was always an adventure. With her Pollyanna spirit, her art and her God were the constants by which her life was propelled as evidenced by her works of art for over 63 years. As a professional artist, her commissions of notables and toddlers took her on a worldwide adventure. Over the years, her work was displayed in 55 "one woman" invitational exhibitions, the most notable of which was in 1969 at the Taiwan National Historical Museum attended by Mme. Chiang Kai-Shek and where her portrait of Dr. Sun Yat Sen was displayed. Mrs. Carroll was preceded by her husband, David. She leaves her sister, Nadia Price Strid; her only daughter, Nadia "Pixie" Woodall (Richard); three grandchildren, Andy Shelton (Jacqui), David Shelton, Beth Hayes (Bill); and three great-grandchildren, Michelle and Andy Shelton, and Olivia Hayes. Memorials may be made to the local charity of donor's choice. A celebration of Mrs. Carroll's life will be held Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2 p.m. at 3232 West Lakewood Drive, Memphis, 38128.
