Georgia Carroll Rudd Bird, passed away at Asbury Healthcare Center on August 6, 2011. She was born to James Houston and Nora Thomas Carroll on October 5, 1918. She graduated from Walland High School, attended Knoxville Business College and Maryville College. Georgia was a past member of the Maryville Lions Club. She taught school at Law�s and Walland Elementary before going to work at The Daily Times. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Earl Rudd and Merrill Bird and parents James and Nora Carroll. Survivors include: Sister, Beatrice Carroll Burns; Niece, Johnnie Mae Maynard; Nephew, James H. Burns; Three Step-Children, Jim Bird, Marilyn Hammond and Julia Cooper; four Step-Grandchildren and four Step-great-grandchildren. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service at interment at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Jerrod McCormack, Benny Dalton and Don Story officiating.
