Amelia Carruthers Anthony, 83, Ellenton, died March 14, 2004.
She was born March 30, 1920, in West Charlton, N.Y., and came to Manatee County in 1997 from Sun City Center. She was a teller at Key Bank in New York. She was past treasurer of the Christian Women's Club and a member of the United Methodist Church of Sun City.
Survivors include daughters Joan Carruthers of St. Petersburg and Janie Teetsel of Palmetto; sisters Genevieve Rychcik of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., Louisa McClure of Englewood, and Ruth Severino of Vero Beach; a brother, Henry Kopmeyer of Sun City; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday, with a service to follow, at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Mansion Chapel. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
