Cora Lee Anderson, 76, of Chattanooga, TN passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011, at a local hospital surrounded by her family.
She had lived most of her life in Chattanooga where she retired in 1996 from the Chattanooga City School System as a Teachers Aid and Secretary with over 30 years of service.
Mrs. Anderson was a strong and courageous lady who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Millie Carson; grandson, Steven Brumlow; and great-granddaughter, Morgan Jones.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Freddie Joe "Buddie" Anderson; six children, Terry and Pattie Anderson, Deborah "Debbie" and Ronnie Sims, Cindy and Gene Kelley, Donna and Billy Brumlow, James Anderson, and David and Tammy Anderson; brothers and sisters, Billie and Mable Carson, Gracie Bible, Johnny and Linda Carson, Becky and Tommy Westmoreland, and Kenneth and Janice Carson; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with the Rev. Lewis Holloway Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3-9 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
