Mary Evelyn Armstrong, 41, of Palatka, died Saturday, July 10, 2004 at Shands Jacksonville from injuries received in an automobile accident.
The Sylvester, Ga., native had lived in Palatka for the past 35 years. She attended New Hope Baptist Church and she had worked for 19 years as an inserter with the Palatka Daily News.
She is survived by a son, Frank A. Burkes, Jr. of Satsuma; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Burkes of Palatka and Melissa Bartlett of Palatka; her mother, Evelena Carter of Palatka; brothers, Harvey Carter and Dwayne Carter, both of Satsuma; Rodger Carter of Palatka; sister, Delores McQuaig of East Palatka; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9:30-10"30 a.m. Wednesday, July 14 at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home of Palatka with graveside services following at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill West Cemetery in Palatka.
