Helen E. Altstaetter, 82, died at 9 a.m. Oct. 31, 2008, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born March 8, 1926, in Meigs County to Earl F. and Kathryn Scholl Carter, who preceded her in death. She married Robert Nusbaum, who died in 1961. On June 12, 1965, she married Myron Altstaetter, who died Dec. 21, 2000.
Mrs. Altstaetter had been a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She had been a member of the St. Johns Grange.
Survivors include a son, James Nusbaum, of Wapakoneta; three daughters, Linda (Fred) Howell, of Cridersville, Kay (Richard) Milliner, of Lake Mary, Fla., and Amy (James) Hall, of Gahanna; four grandchildren, Beth (Tony) Malcolm, Jessica Milliner, Allison Milliner and Jake Hall; two stepgrandchildren, Tina (Rick) Matthewson and Susie (Don) Dailey; a great-granddaughter, Lila Malcolm; five stepgreat-grandchildren, Nathan and Seth Matthewson and Trisha, David and Kathy Dailey; three stepgreat-great-grandchildren; a sister, Maxine (Tom) Grothouse, of Houston, Texas; and a brother-in-law, Dale (Elaine) Altstaetter, of Wapakoneta.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Dale Siders; and a grandson, John Milliner.
Services at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The Rev. Elaine Mikesell will officiate. Private burial will be in Altstaetter Cemetery, near Cairo.
