"Lizzie", Nannie Elizabeth Carter Adams, was born in Wilson County, Tennessee to Henderson Carter and Nancy Bailey Carter on May 10, 1853. She married William Henry Adams October 3, 1871 solumnized by J T Strut, Justice of the Peace. They had a large farm in district 6 of rural Davidson County, Tennessee.
Lizzie died when Pallie was 6 days old from childbirth fever. The older three girls assumed the responsibility of raising their younger siblings as well as taking care of their father.
