Aaron Rufus Cash, 82, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, February 18, 2010.

He was born December 9, 1927, in Gainesville, GA.

Aaron had been a member of Highland Park Baptist Church for 42 years, where he had served in the Prison Ministry and Nursing Home Ministry of the Church. A devoted husband and father, he was a Veteran of the Korean War, attended Tennessee Temple Bible college and was retired from Roper Corp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Lou Ella Cash; his brothers, Frank Cash, Carl Cash; his sisters, Mary Louise Cash, Irma Cash, Grace Cash, Lillian Cantrell; and great-grandson, Aaron Lee Blackwell.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Bonnie Moore Cash; two daughters, Angela (Randy) Ellis, of Chattanooga, TN, Joy (Oscar) Payne, of Louisville, KY; son, Anthony Cash, of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Ruth Brownlow, of Gainesville, GA, and Francis Vernon, of Atlanta, GA; three grandsons, Tyler (Samantha) Blackwell of Louisville, KY, and Garrett and Grant Ellis, of Chattanooga, TN; two granddaughters, Nina (Jeremy) McDougal, of Chattanooga, TN and Lauren Ellis, of Chattanooga, TN; four great-grandchildren, Courtney Blackwell, Aidan Blackwell, Abigail McDougal and Bentley McDougal, and soon to be Adrianna Hope Blackwell; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2010, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Lloyd Workman officiating.

Visitation will be Monday from 9-9:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home, 1914 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN (corner of McCallie Avenue and Beech Street).
