Funeral Mass for Mrs. Pauline Lucia Castellano Canto, 87, widow of Earl Canto, will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, February 27, 2003 in Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd., with Father Michael Williams officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary's section of Evergreen Cemetery. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 26, 2003, in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard South, with Father Conrad Cowart officiating. Visitation will follow the Vigil Service.
Born August 27, 1915 in Tampa, Florida, Mrs. Canto passed away on Monday, February 24, 2003 after a brief illness. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church.
Mrs. Canto is survived by her four daughters, Mrs. Frances (Manuel) Galifianakis of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Annie (Raymond) Nasrallah, Mrs. Nellie (Charles) Flynn, Jr., and Mrs. Paula (James) Buzar, all of Jacksonville; thirteen grandchildren, Manuel Galifianakis, III, Sophia (Guillermo) Garcia, Pauline (William) Vogel, Frank (Leslie) Galifianakis, Anna (Hal) Bradford, Jr., Raymond Nasrallah, II, Karen Nasrallah, Joseph (Ellen) Nasrallah, Mary (J. Patrick) Thornton, II, Katie (Randy) Magee, Charles Flynn, III, Charaleen Flynn, and Joanna Buzar, eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Pauline C. Canto, to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
