Lucille Bailey
Lucille Bailey, 89, of Murrysville, Pa., formerly of Belington and Philippi, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, Pa., following an extended illness. She had recently been a patient of West Haven Nursing Home, Murrysville.
She was born Dec. 26, 1912, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Hoy Arbraham and Addie Callihan Casto.
She was twice married and was preceded in death by her first husband, Devlin Donahue, and by her second husband, Homer Bailey.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Cecelia Ann Ritter, Boise, Idaho, Harold G. Ritter Jr. Murrysville, Pa., William Clarence Ritter and Robert Dale Ritter, both of Apollo, Pa.; two sisters, Emma P. Smith, Philippi, and Eleanor Joe Miller, Buckhannon; two brothers, Kenneth G. Casto and Robert L. Casto, both of Philippi; three great-grandchildren, Katrina Ritter, William G. Ritter Jr. and Nichole Ritter; and one great-great-grandson.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Galen Eugene Donahue; one daughter, Helen Ruth Ritter; and son-in-law, Harold R. Ritter; two sisters, Hazel Ward and Vera Dickenson Overfield; and four brothers, Hersel K. Casto, William D. Casto, Charles Jr. Casto and Raymond Casto.
Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker, a former restaurant employee and along with Mr. Bailey had been associated with Stemple & Forman Funeral Home in Philippi and the Stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington. She was a member of the Cross Roads United Methodist Church.
Friends may call at the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home in Philippi from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday, when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. John Lepp officiating. Interment will follow in the Belington Fraternal Cemetery.
