From the 7/30/1912 Van Wert, Ohio, Twice-A-Week Bulletin: "Mrs. Frederick Billman died quite unexpectedly Monday at her residence of Taylor street, due to the after results of pneumonia suffered early in the present year. She was critically ill of the dreaded disease following the holidays and had been in poor health since that date. The deceased, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Casto, was born in Crawford County 66 years ago. When she was quite young the Casto family removed to Van Wert county locating at Willshire, where some years later she was married to Mr. Billman. They removed to Van Wert when Mr. Billman was elected to the office of sheriff, nearly forty years ago. Mrs. Billman was a woman of quiet personality, sterling characteristics and her many kind and neighborly acts will long be remembered by her older and cherished friends. She was the last member of the older generation of the Casto family and is survived only by her husband and daughter, Mrs. Maude McDonald. The funeral services will be held at the late residence, 419 Taylor street, Tuesday afternoon, at two o'clock. Friends wishing to review the remains are requested to call between the hours of nine and eleven o'clock."
